AMSOIL Series 2000 Racing Grease is an extreme-pressure multi-purpose grease formulated for high-temperature/high-speed applications. Yet, it excels in the protection of low-speed bearings, a job usually reserved for heavy-duty products. Components get the load bearing capacity of a heavy-duty grease without sacrificing the high-temperature protection of a multi-purpose.

Anti-Wear Performance

AMSOIL Series 2000 Racing Grease passes the Ford Film Strength Endurance Test with a 16 point margin (see graph). Most nonsolid-fortified racing greases, synthetic or conventional, do not pass. AMSOIL Series 2000 Racing Grease keeps greased components in like-new condition.

AMSOIL GL Series multi-purpose, EP greases are qualified against the highest grease standards*, NLGI GC (wheel bearing) and LB (chassis), and are designed for multiple use applications. These greases are composed of synthetic base oils and lithium complex thickeners that provide the film strength, shear resistance and mechanical stability required for good grease lubrication. This combination excels in high and low operating temperature ranges by providing excellent oxidation stability, high temperature dropping points, good low temperature torque values and good low temperature pumping capabilities. The GL Greases are compounded with an effective oil soluble extreme-pressure additive for heavy loads, plus oxidation and corrosion inhibitors that impart good oxidation stability and rust protection.

AMSOILs top performing lithium complex thickener system provides excellent adhesion properties and water resistance as identified by ASTM D-1264 water washout test. This resistance to water means a protective film of lubricant remains present to protect equipment against wear while the corrosion inhibitors prevent rust. APPLICATION RECOMMENDATION

AMSOIL GL Greases grades #0, #1 and #2, are recommended for use in manual or automatic lubricating systems. NLGI #0 (GLA) and #1 (GLB) have better mobility and are the preferred choice for colder applications, for automatic lubrication systems with long pumping runs, and for gear box applications (where recommended by manufacturer). NLGI #2 (GLC) is the preferred choice for medium to high ambient temperatures, sleeve type bushings, high shock loading environments, wet environments. and is the primary choice for wheel bearings.

The correct consistency grade of AMSOIL GL multi-purpose greases are recommended for use in heavy and light duty applications found in manufacturing plants, automotive applications, agricultural equipment and construction equipment. These include, but are not limited to, roller bearings, plain bearings, thrust bearings, gears, electric motors, presses, winches, bushings, wheel bearings. chassis lubrication, universal joints, ball joints, tie-rod ends, and steering knuckles. AMSOIL GL greases are suitable for use up to 350 F When operating at elevated temperatures, frequent regreasing may be required.

AMSOIL GL Lithium Complex Greases are compatible with many other types of greases. However, it is recommended that when changing greases, the equipment be cleaned of the old grease when possible or flushed with a liberal amount of the GL grease while the mechanism is in operation. Closely monitor the system for any inconsistencies. Grease compatibility questions should be referred to your AMSOIL representative or AMSOIL Inc.

APPLICATION MAINTENANCE

Maintaining a clean work environment is important when equipment greasing is performed. Wipe grease fitting clean prior to injecting grease to prevent contaminant ingestion. Maintain bearing housings one-third to one-half full of grease. Do not over-grease, as excessive heat buildup can result. Supplement standard grease maintenance by periodically cleaning and packing housings with fresh grease on an established maintenance schedule.

The GH Greases are compounded with oxidation and corrosion inhibitors, effective oil soluble EP additives and molybdenum disulfide (moly) solid EP additives for all around protection in severe conditions.

The presence of moly provides an extra measure of protection in shock loading situations common in both construction and agricultural use. During heavy shock loading, the lubricant film between metal surfaces can be temporarily ruptured, but moly remains intact to prevent metal to metal contact which could cause equipment damage. Moly also assists in dirty environments or when proper re-greasing intervals are not followed.

AMSOIL's top performing lithium complex thickener system provides excellent water resistance as identified by the ASTM D-1264 water washout test. Therefore, even in wet conditions a lubricant film remains present to protect equipment against wear while the corrosion inhibitors prevent rust. AMSOIL Synthetic Water Resistant Lithium Complex Grease is an extreme-pressure multi-purpose grease formulated specially for wet-duty performance. Its water washout and sprayoff resistance ideally suit it for use in the wheel bearings of vehicles and trailers frequently exposed to water, mud, snow or ice.

The grease is also excellent for use in plants, such as paper mills, in which machinery undergoes frequent or prolonged exposure to water.

AMSOIL Synthetic Water Resistant Lithium Complex Grease derives its superior wet-duty performance from its peerless cohesiveness and adhesiveness. Service and Shelf Life

AMSOIL Synthetic Water Resistant Lithium Complex Grease resists oxidation, high temperature degradation and additive depletion so effective, the grease may be used for longer service intervals than conventional greases may be used. AMSOIL Synthetic Water Resistant Lithium Complex Grease also resist oil separation and offers a long shelf life.

APPLICATION

AMSOIL Synthetic Water Resistant Lithium Complex Grease meets the highest performance standards set by the National Lubrication Grease Institute (NLGI), GC for wheel bearing applications, and LB for chassis applications. It may be used in automotive wheel bearings, chassis or other applications for which an NLGI No. 1-1/2 GC or LB grease is recommended.

AMSOIL Synthetic Water Resistant Lithium Complex Grease's unique water resistant formulation makes it ideal for use in components or equipment with frequent or prolonged water exposure.

AMSOIL Fifth Wheel and Open Gear Compound is based on proprietary technology that does not use asphaltic materials, residual compounded oils or diluent solvents as part of the lubricant formulation.

It provides excellent adhesion to surfaces, resistance to water washout and protection against rust, corrosion, and wear. Virtually eliminates common deficiencies of residual oils and asphaltic compounds such as narrow operating temperature range, flaking, poor adhesion, water washout and environmental concerns.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

AMSOIL Synthetic Fifth Wheel and Open Gear Compound (GFW) is based on novel, proprietary technology resulting in a lubricant that does not use asphaltic materials, residual compounded oils or diluent solvents as part of the lubricant formulation.* Typical gear compounds are composed of asphaltic and residual oils cut with solvent to ease application and use. Synthetic GFW does not require solvents to assist the product in application and use, even in cold weather. GFW meets the AGMA specification 14R for open gear lubricants.

AMSOIL GFW provides excellent adhesion to surfaces, resistance to water washout and protection against rust, corrosion and wear. GFW virtually eliminates common deficiencies of residual oils and asphaltic compounds such as narrow operating temperature range, flaking, poor adhesion, water washout and environmental concerns.

AMSOIL GFW is an aerosol spray product, making application quick, easy, neat and economical. Because AMSOIL GFW sprays on, less product is required to cover an application than is required with liquid or paste products.

APPLICATION RECOMMENDATIONS

AMSOIL GFW may be applied to fifth wheels, open gears, wire ropes, chains, flexible couplings, sliding surfaces of drag lines and shovels, construction equipment, dredging equipment or any application where a heavy, tenacious lubricant is required.

GFW should be applied at an adequate coverage rate to ensure good lubrication and coverage of all mating surfaces. For easy application, apply at room temperature.

Relubrication intervals are based on environmental conditions and use. Manufacturers' recommendations and users' observations of surface conditions may be used to establish correct application rates and lubrication intervals.

WIDE OPERATING TEMPERATURE RANGE

Because of the inherent cold-temperature properties of synthetic base materials, AMSOIL GFW stays fluid at cold temperatures. This dramatically eases application and allows the product to protect surfaces, where residual compounded oils and solvent-cut asphaltic products may not. In cold temperature applications, residual compounded or asphaltic products will typically flake off, leaving the surfaces unprotected against wear and weather, causing the relubrication interval to increase. AMSOIL GFW does not flake off in cold temperatures, but stays in place to provide long-lasting lubrication protection.

In warm temperatures, asphaltic materials soften and lose film strength, allowing component wear. AMSOIL GFW, a tacky lubricant, stays in place during warm temperature operations, providing heavy load carrying and extreme pressure performance, thus protecting surfaces and reducing the need for frequent relubrication.

ADHESION TO METAL

AMSOIL GFW, with its synthetic base materials and highly polar nature, provides excellent adhesion to metal surfaces even in hostile environments. This is a tremendous advantage since compounded oils and solvent-cut asphaltic materials' adhesion are readily affected by the cleanliness of the metal surface. The ability of GFW to adhere to surfaces under a variety of conditions means greater protection, less maintenance and cleaner application.
