Testing shows AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil dramatically outperforms popular conventional and synthetic motor oils of much higher viscosity in wear protection (see chart).

Fuel Efficient Formula

AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil efficiently transfers energy from the engine to the drivetrain. Its low coefficient of friction inhibits the energy loss to "drag" common to high viscosity oils.

AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil may be mixed with petroleum-based oils or other synthetic oils. However, a mixture of AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil and another oil may offer a shorter service life than pure AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil does.

SERVICE LIFE

In personal cars and light-duty trucks with non-turbocharged gasoline engines: change the oil at 35,000-mile or one-year intervals, whichever comes first.

In turbocharged gasoline engines and occasionally used gasoline engines: change the oil at intervals up to three times longer recommended by the engine manufacturer or six months, whichever comes first.

In high performance and racing engines: specified by Owner Experience/Oil Analysis.

Marine four-cycle gasoline engines and infrequently used automotive four-cycle gasoline engines: drain oil at intervals up to three times longer than those recommended by the engine manufacturer, or one year, whichever comes first.

In fleet and industrial engines: drain oil at intervals up to two times longer than recommended by the manufacturer, or six months, whichever comes first.

AMSOIL Oil Filters should be changed at 12,500-mile or six-month intervals (whichever comes first) in gasoline engines. If a Hastings or other filter is used, filter should be changed at manufacturer's recommendation.

Conventional motor oils tend to "boil off" in high temperatures, losing up to 15 percent of their original weight. Thermal and Oxidative Stability

The outstanding thermal and oxidative stability of AMSOIL XL-7500 Synthetic Motor Oils ensure the long-term physical and chemical integrity of the oils after exposure to engine operating temperatures. Oils with poor thermal and oxidative stability break down rapidly in engine operating temperatures. After breakdown, oils lose their ability to lubricate and protect engines, and the products of oil breakdown form sludge, varnish, deposits and acids. Poor thermal and oxidative stability are the top reasons conventional oils require frequent changing.

Low Volatility

MIXING AMSOIL

NEW VEHICLES UNDER WARRANTY

All makers of domestic and foreign nameplate vehicles sold in North America recommend the use of specific viscosity grades of API certified oils. AMSOIL XL-7500 Synthetic 5W-30 and 10W-30 Motor Oils are API certified oils.

AMSOIL 100% Synthetic 5W-30 Motor Oil exceeds the lubrication requirements of all modern automobile engines, providing tough lubricating protection in the most demanding operating conditions. It resists high temperature degradation and flows freely in cold conditions for substantial reduction in engine wear. AMSOIL 5W-30 provides excellent engine protection, maximum power, improved fuel efficiency and extended oil drain intervals.

Resists High Temperature Vaporization

AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-30 Motor Oil resists vaporizing in the high temperatures that vaporize petroleum motor oils. High vaporization loss leaves a thicker, higher viscosity oil than is recommended. The NOACK Volatility Test, which measures the weight loss of an oil due to evaporation, shows that most 5W-30 petroleum motor oils fail to pass the 13 percent ACEA pass/fail limit. In fact some oils lose as much as 25 percent of their weight to volatility. AMSOIL 5W-30 Motor Oil loses only 6.9 percent of its weight. AMSOIL 5W-30 remains a 5W-30. It provides consistent high temperature protection and reduces oil consumption and harmful emissions.

Resists Oxidation and Thermal Breakdown

AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-30 Motor Oil resists the damaging effects of heat, blowby chemicals and oxidation up to 10 times longer than petroleum motor oils. AMSOIL 5W-30 resists forming varnish deposits and sludge. It doesn't thicken like petroleum oils, but continues to cool and lubricate, providing peak engine performance and extended drain intervals. Provides High Shear Stability

AMSOIL 5W-30 surpasses the North American SAE and European ACEA oil specifications for high temperature/high shear (HTHS) viscosity. It doesn't shear back to a lower viscosity oil in the high temperature/high shear conditions of today's smaller, high RPM automobile engines. AMSOIL 5W-30 maintains an extremely protective viscosity of 3.5 cP at 302F (150C) in the ASTM D-4683 High Temperature/High Shear Test, far exceeding test limits of 2.9 cP.

AMSOIL 5W-30 remains fluid at temperatures as frigid as -60F (-51C). Resists Deposit Formation

SERVICE LIFE

In personal cars and light-duty trucks with non-turbocharged gasoline engines: drain oil at 25,000 miles or one-year intervals, whichever comes first.

In turbocharged gasoline engines, motorcycles, ATVs, marine craft and occasionally used gasoline engines: drain oil at intervals up to three times as long as the intervals recommended by the engine manufacturer or one year, whichever comes first.

In high performance and racing engines: drain oil according to the findings of used oil analysis.

In light-duty and non-turbocharged diesel engines: drain oil at intervals up to twice as long as those recommended by the engine manufacturer or one year, whichever comes first.

In fleet and industrial engines: drain oil at intervals up to three times as long as those recommended by the engine manufacturer if the findings of a used oil analysis program support the extended drain intervals.

If the vehicle is equipped with an AMSOIL Oil Filter, the filter should be changed at 12,500-mile or six-month intervals (whichever comes first) in gasoline engines and 7,000-mile or six-month intervals (whichever comes first) in diesel engines. Non-AMSOIL oil filters should be changed at the engine manufacturer's recommended filter change intervals.

AMSOIL synthetic motor oils are fully compatible with conventional motor oil. For best results, however, use AMSOIL Engine Flush, then install AMSOIL synthetic motor oil.

For maximum engine protection, use an AMSOIL Oil Filter and an AMSOIL Air Filter.

AMSOIL Synthetic Super Heavy Weight Racing Oil is formulated specifically for wear protection and friction reduction in the extreme service conditions of racing.  It has been proven on-track to bring down high engine oil sump temperatures by 20 degrees F, which speaks directly to its ability to reduce friction, promote power and inhibit wear.

MOTORCYCLE APPLICATIONS

AMSOIL Synthetic Super Heavy Weight Racing Oil is formulated with a complete American petroleum Institute (API) SJ/CD additive system.  AMSOIL Synthetic Super Heavy Weight Racing Oil may be used in all engines for which API SJ/CD SAE 60 oils are specified.

AMSOIL Synthetic Super Heavy Weight Racing Oil is also formulated with a complete Japan Automobile Standards Association (JASO) MB additive system.  AMSOIL Synthetic Super Heavy Weight Racing Oil may be used in motorcycles requiring JASO MB oils.  Such engines include vintage and classic motorcycles, often equipped with air-cooled engines, and specifying straight grade SAE 60 oils. 

HEAT STABILITY

AMSOIL Synthetic Super Heavy Weight Racing Oil is highly resistant to thermal degradation and oxidation.  Even in long-term high temperature service, AMSOIL Synthetic Super Heavy Weight Racing Oil maintains its specified chemical and physical properties, forming no sludge, varnish, deposits or acids and maintaining its specified viscosity and ability to protect and lubricate engines.

OIL CONSUMPTION

AMSOIL Synthetic Super Heavy Weight Racing Oil is highly resistant to evaporative losses, which keeps oil consumption rates low.  Low rates of oil consumption allows oil to flow freely without significant "boil-off" thickening to ensure dependable engine lubrication and protection.

CORROSION, RUST AND FOAM CONTROL

VISCOSITY RETENTION

AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 10W-40 Motor Oil provides a wide range of protection in all four-cycle gasoline and diesel engines, including pickups, RVs, cars and off-highway vehicles. It is recommended for use in vehicles subject to stop-and-go driving, short trips, high temperatures, frequent trailer pulling and off-road use.

RESISTS HIGH TEMPERATURE VAPORIZATION

Conventional motor oils tend to "boil off" in high temperatures, losing up to 25 percent of their original weight. These vaporized oils circulate poorly, reduce fuel efficiency and contribute to excessive emissions and engine wear. AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 10W-40 Motor Oil resists vaporization. In fact, according to the NOACK Volatility Test, which measures the weight loss of an oil due to evaporation, AMSOIL High Performance 10W-40 only loses 7.0 percent of its weight in high temperature service, surpassing rigorous European standards set at 13 percent weight loss in high temperature testing. The superior vaporization resistance of AMSOIL High Performance 10W-40 keeps engine wear, oil consumption and emissions to a minimum, while keeping oil circulation efficient and fuel economy high.

RESISTS OXIDATION AND THERMAL BREAKDOWN

PROVIDES HIGH SHEAR STABILITY

AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 10W-40 Motor Oil surpasses the North American SAE and European ACEA oil specifications for high temperature/high shear (HTHS) viscosity. It retains its viscosity at temperatures and loads that cause conventional oils to shear back to a lower viscosity. AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 10W-40 Motor Oil maintains an extremely protective viscosity of 3.93 cP at 302F (150C) in the ASTM D 4683 High Temperature/High Shear Test, significantly exceeding test limits.

PROVIDES LOW TEMPERATURE PROTECTION

AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 10W-40 Motor Oil remains fluid at temperatures as low as -54F (-48C), permitting easy engine cranking for quick starts. During sub-zero temperatures, it flows to all parts of the engine much quicker than conventional petroleum oils, greatly reducing the rate of wear and increasing engine life.

RESISTS DEPOSIT FORMATION

MIXING AMSOIL

AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 10W-40 Motor Oil is compatible with conventional petroleum oils; however, mixing AMSOIL 10W-40 with a conventional oil will shorten the drain period of AMSOIL 10W-40. Engine oil additives or after-market products are not recommended for use with AMSOIL 10W-40.

SERVICE LIFE

  • In personal cars and light-duty trucks with non-turbocharged gasoline engines, drain oil at 25,000 miles or one-year intervals, whichever comes first.
  • In turbocharged gasoline engines, change oil at three times the engine manufacturer's recommended drain interval or six months, whichever comes first.
  • In high performance and racing engines, change oil at intervals specified by used oil analysis.
  • In light-duty and non-turbocharged diesel engines, change oil at two or more times the engine manufacturer's recommended drain intervals if the findings of used oil analysis support those drain intervals or six months, whichever comes first.

AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 20W-50 Motor Oil is specifically formulated to provide tough lubricating protection in the most demanding operations.  It is recommended for use is motorcycles, pickup trucks, recreational vehicles and other high-stress vehicles powered by gasoline or diesel engines. AMSOIL SAE 20W-50 High Performance Synthetic Motor Oil may be used in all motorcycle engines, including those with a wet clutch system, requiring an API CD, SG-CG or SH-CD oil.

WEAR PROTECTION

The AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 20W-50 Motor Oil anti-wear additive package contains high levels of zinc and phosphorous for superior protection of cam lobes and other high-pressure parts.  In fact, AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 20W-50 Motor Oil contains more zinc and phosphorous than most popular motorcycle manufacturer motor oils.  Its superior anti-wear package offers superior wear protection.  AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 20W-50 Motor Oil leaves a wear scar up to 40 percent smaller than the scars left by other popular brands in the ASTM D4172 Four-Ball Wear Test.

Some motorcycle transmissions and engines share an oil sump, so the engine oil also provides wear protection to the transmission gears.  AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 20W-50 Motor Oil offers superior wear protection to transmission gears, which are often subjected to high surface pressure and rotation speed.  It also promotes proper wet clutch performance.

Resists High Temperature Vaporization

AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 10W-40 resists high temperature vaporization for reduced oil consumption. Conventional petroleum oils contain a combination of light and heavy hydrocarbons. The extreme heat in an engine can vaporize the light hydrocarbons and reduce the volume by weight of a conventional oil by 25 percent to leave behind a thick, heavy oil. Surpassing the ACEA/CCMC NOACK Volatility Test, AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 10W-40 loses only 9.4 percent of its volume by weight due to vaporization.

Resists Oxidation and Thermal Breakdown

AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 10W-40 resists oil breakdown from heat, blow-by chemicals and oxygen up to ten times longer than do conventional oils.
